Do you have some bulky items to dispose of, that won’t fit in your Black Container?  Bulk trash can be placed on your curb during the week of the first Monday of the month

These general guidelines are found on the Town of Gilbert Bulk Trash website:

Have your Bulk Trash out the weekend immediately before your collection week.   Questions?  Call the Town of Gilbert’s Solid Waste/Bulk Trash division at (480) 503-6400.

These items include man made materials that are bulky or cumbersome such as:

Furniture
Microwave ovens
Televisions
Dishwashers
Other household items that cannot be placed in the black container

For safety reasons, please remove doors, latches, and locks from discarded cabinets or chests that may pose a hazard to children.

Major household appliances (washers, dryers, refrigerators, stoves, and water heaters) are collected separately as part of the APPLIANCE RECYCLING PROGRAM.

Visit the Bulk Trash Pick-Up Schedule for more information.

Remember, in San Tan Ranch our Blue Recycling Containers go out on Mondays and Black Trash Containers go out on Thursdays.

Did you know… residents may haul garbage to the Salt River Landfill located on Gilbert Road just north of the Beeline Highway? Residents of the Town of Gilbert are allowed to take one free load each month.

For more details, visit the Town of Gilbert Public Works website.

I don’t know about you, but when I go to throw away an item I often think to myself, “Can I recycle this?”  Lucky for me (and you!) the Town of Gilbert Recycling Website has a great guideline on what we can and cannot recycle.

So, the next time you wonder if that Salad Dressing Container can be recycled (and whether or not you have to remove its label first) just check out the guidelines.  Together, we can keep our service costs down and help the environment at the same time.

Parking within 10 feet of a US Postal Box is not allowed in San Tan RanchDid you know that the inlets on our Neighborhood streets are not there for parking?  They were installed by the Town of Gilbert as a method for “slowing down traffic.”  Parking in these areas is not allowed, and can cause unsafe conditions for pedestrians and bicyclists in our neighborhood.

Additionally, the HOA has respecfully asked that we do not park within 10 feet of any United States Postal Box.  We all want to keep our Postal Carriers safe and allow them to do their jobs without danger.

If you’ve driven on San Tan Village Parkway recently, you’ll notice a lot of construction activity around Williamsfield Road.

Along the western side of Loop 202, north of WilliamsField Road is a brand new Harkins Theatre, slated to open in Spring 2007.  Along with retailers such as Circuit City, Jo-Ann Superstore and Wal-Mart which are already open, we will soon see places like Swarovski Crystal, Dillard’s and The Disney Store.  The Regional Shopping Center at SanTan Village is slated for opening in October, 2007.

Check out ShopSanTanVillage.com or their Retailer Listing for more details.

Did you know that four airlines are currently operating at Williams Gateway Airport?  Located near Power Road and Ray Road in Mesa, it is only six miles from San Tan Ranch.

You can now book flights to regional airports near Las Vegas, Chicago and Seattle.  The limited schedule only allows for flights once or twice per week, with a benefit of very competitive pricing.

Check out the Flight Departures and Arrivals Schedule for more information, or visit http://www.flywga.org.  The site also features an area to address concerns of people like us who live near the airport.
